Funk’s Double Citrus IPA

On Wednesday I ventured to Funk Brewing in Emmaus, PA for their can release of Double Citrus IPA. This is a great, refreshing IIPA that offers a great hop and citrus aroma. This cloudy IIPA is infused with Mango juice. They achieved the perfect blend in my opinion, the juice adds a nice citrus touch without being too acidic. With a Beer Advocate score of 92, I’d say others share the same opinion..

“DOUBLE CITRUS 8% ABV 16oz cans
The big brother to our Citrus IPA. Double Citrus is an Imperial India Pale Ale created with an absurd amount of American hops making it super aromatic and juicy, with tons of citrus, pine, and tropical flavors. The complex malt character unites with the hops to bring out notes of honey and biscuit, too. Released only in spring, get this beer while you can and drink it fresh.”

While they are a bit off on only releasing it in Spring, I’d gladly accept this beer with open arms any time of year!

While Funk quenches our thirst with their spectacular beers, they host a selection of food trucks Wednesdays through Sundays. On site was the Sticky Pig. Between the aroma of fresh beer and smoked brisket, I was in heaven!! Their Pork Butt grilled cheese is a great gut filler and is recommended before imbibing on too many Double Citrus IPAs.

This is the obligatory first post. I created this site to showcase the beers I enjoy, discuss brewing, pairings, and any other items that may come to the table. Pour yourself a beer and join me in discussing anything relating to beer!
